Band: Bloody Invasion
Title: Zombie Society
Label: Bret-Hart Records (Band’s label)
Release date: 11 January 2019
Country: Germany
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

BLOODY INVASION
are from Neuruppin, Germany and “Zombie Society” is the second release but the first album released. The album started with a speech about zombies in a kind of news. And they start the music… The first thing that came to my head… Amon Amarth??? I’m listening to Amon Amarth? Did I choose the correct promo? I thought. Yes… Beware that I’m not saying that is bad. Because it isn’t… The Death Metal that the band plays have the influences and Amon Amarth is there. The band has good ideas, very well structured songs, good riffs. I like the tone of the Vocalist’s voice. BLODDY INVASION in some songs left a bit the Amon Amarth influences and they do a bit of OSDM but not so much. So I can say they do a mix of OSDM with the melody and the Amon Amarth DM style. Not bad. I enjoy it. Check them.

Band: Split/Cross
Title: Rise of Discontent
Label: Self-released
Release date: 31 January 2019
Country: USA
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

SPLIT/CROSS
… I couldn’t find much info about them except the info I got on the promo. SPLIT/CROSS are the now defunct Police State band, but this time as a power trio and they are from Pennsylvania, USA. And what we have here… Grind/Crust with some Sludge parts. SPLIT/CROSS give us about 22m of pure devastation divided into 8 songs. It’s good and I enjoy it even if only have the song time already mentioned. So, I can say that this promo was on repeat mode and I listened to this release many times. Are some songs at the same time, looks that they have a few Hardcore influences. That I didn’t like so much. What I can say is this release is a positive thing. You can listen to very well, not boring and it’s not repetitive. Listen to them…

Band: Vomit Spell
Title: Demo 2019
Label: Self-released / Lower Class Kids Records
Release date: 02nd January 2019 (Band – Digital) / 15th March 2019 (Tape release)
Country: Germany
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

VOMIT SPELL
started in 2016 with just two persons but in 2017 the band was complete. The main idea of the band is to do Death Metal HM-2 style with Grind. I can say “Mission accomplished”. Can you imagine HM-2 style with Grind? VOMIT SPELL did it. The guitars are the HM-2 style, the structure of the songs the same and the grind (Beat) is the drums. Well, the guitars also do some typical Grind riffs. The vocals… A mix of both styles. It’s not a bad demo/release but with a better sound production, I could understand much better the music. But that is underground and who doesn’t love it, don’t listen. This demo I will try to have in physical format when it’s out. Well done.

Band: Tenebrae Aeternum
Title: Sitra Ahra
Label: Self-released
Release date: 8 December 2018
Country: Switzerland
Format reviewed: Digital Stream

TENEBRAE AETERNUM
is from Nürensdorf, Switzerland and they play… A VERY GOOD Black Metal. Good riffs, a very drum work with very good details. A sick voice but not in the typical Black Metal. Its a stronger one and sometimes a bit shouted. Sometimes the band reminds a bit Dysangelium or Ascension (Both from Germany). They manage to create a very good atmosphere in all the songs. The leads are simple but in a mix of Creepy/Melancholic way!? Those leads mixed with the rhythm part of the band which is excellent and the voice… Tchhhh… Very well done. I advise this band. Unfortunately… Only 3 songs in this release. I want more…
