JAMMERFAL’S JANUARY’S IN ROTATION LIST

This January was a bit strange. Some premature deaths of very dear people such as Sean Reinert, Reed Mullin, and Kobe Bryant left us too early having a future ahead that would have followed the path of success that they were traveling through. But thanks that their legacy will continue in our hearts forever. And this is some of the material that was in rotation in my ears this past month…

Death – Human (1991)

I remember listening to Human for the first time. It was a superb experience. And in January I was playing this album time after time and one day… I read the news of Sean’s death and was stunned. I felt very sad because that young man had managed to captivate me with his talent and especially in this album. I continued to listen and share it after his death for several more days. An absolute masterpiece.

Vananidr – Damnation (2020)

This album has a brutal quality. Soon I have to review this work to publish right here. I’ve been listening repeatedly since I had the promo in my possession. Excellent and highly recommended melodic black metal with a stunning composition. Special mention for the song Wounds of Old, my fave from Damnation.

Fvneral Fvkk – Carnal Confessions (2019)

Fvneral Fvkk is a band from Hamburg, Germany that has been active since 2015 and has performed an EP and a Split. In September 2019 they launch their first LP called Carnal Confessions. Pure doom, with exquisite guitar work, they know how to express themselves very well through the dark theme that surrounds the religious perversions to which those who are “so close to the deity” are subjected but at the same time “increasingly farther away”. They show us the “holy” sin in an extraordinary way with this great album.

Mystic Prophecy  – Metal Division (2020)

Another band from Germany. MP has a great discography and in this January they released their 11th album. They play a heavy power metal of great quality and this last work is proof of what I say. Metal Division has 11 songs that make up an excellent job. His vocalist R.D. Liapakis delights those who love this style with a masterful vocal exhibition. An album that at the end of the year will be present as one of the best without a doubt. Heavy Metal in your heart.

Iced Earth – Incorruptible (2017)

With the powerful voice of Stu Block and the great Jon Schaffer in a good shape, IE launched Incorruptible in June 2017. This album in my humble opinion is one of the best all-time IE releases. The riffs of Mr. Schaffer are brilliant and the drumming is perfect. This album has a superb quality sound and each component connects very well with the rest. Pieces like Great Heathen Army, Black Flag, Raven Wings, the instrumental Ghost Dance and the great closing song Clear the Way makes this album very enjoyable for all fans of the band and even for those who do not know it thoroughly.
