#BAZUndergroundUpdates LXIX

It surely comes as a surprise to none when we point out its Tuesday, and so, of course it is time for another installment of The Underground Updates with our writers Julia Katrin and Tom Boatman, at your service as usual!
So, let’s see what’s out there…

ONDFODT This coming Friday, Finnish black metal band Ondfødt will be releasing their 3rd full length album Norden and so, Immortal Frost Productions decided to stream the full album here for absolutely free, however, if you do enjoy it (and we most certainly think you will) do keep in mind to head over here to order your own copy as well!

BLACK LION RECORDS If you are as big of a fan of this small swedish record label as we are, you probably know by now that its physical Bandcamp store is closing this year. The digital store will of course continue online, and therefore we believe it is an absolute delight that we can now enjoy 50% off until the end of August, using the code blacklion50. You can check the selection out over here if you haven’t already!

CROWBAR eOne Heavy have been quietly going about their business in recent times putting out limited, special vinyl pressings of Crowbar albums and now it’s the turn of the sludge metal masterpiece Oddfellows Rest. There are two versions, one black and one black and white swirl here. They’re selling out quickly, but eOne Heavy has US, EU and UK stores (check out the Online Stores list at the bottom), so there are still opportunities to splurge on Crowbar vinyl. Danger Will Robinson!

LYKHAEON Ooooh apocalyptic black metal. Repose Records have just released Opprobrium, the second album by Zürichs Lykhaeon. Drawing its inspiration from Greek mythology, you can read all about the album here and check out the very cool looking vinyl. The artwork for this album is great, a perfect accompaniment to this pummelling soundtrack.

TREPANATION RECORDINGS A home to extreme, experimental and dark sounds, the UK’s Trepanation Recordings have just released Trepanned – Volume Two, a pretty huge compilation of various bands the label has released. It’s an interesting little treasure trove and you can get a digital copy here.

ILLUDIUM Announced on Germany’s Prophecy Records, Ash of the Womb by California’s Illudium will be released on October 15th. Meanwhile there’s a preview track here that bodes well for the album with some dreamy ISIS vibes about it. There are two vinyl versions, black and ash grey (how appropriate) which you can preorder from the link above, or check our online stores section below for the european/uk Prophecy stores.

EARTH Drone metal pioneers Earth have announced some new merch at their Bandcamp page. Check out the t-shirts they’ve posted, alongside the various CDs and vinyl they have available.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative. So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.

It’s odd to think that it felt as if the summer would never come, and now next week it will already be August. Time appears to fly even if we miss out on our beloved festivals, but nevertheless as always we do hope you enjoy the entertainment and special offers given to us, and continue to vigilantly wash those horns!
