#BAZUndergroundUpdates XC

3 min read

It is hard to imagine that this instalment of The Underground Updates will be the last before Christmas, but like always before our writers Julia Katrin and Tom Boatman work tirelessly to bring us the latest info on the entertainment and goodie bags available for us.

So let’s see what’s out there!

COBRA THE IMPALER For fans of Mastodon, Gojira, Ghost and Baroness, do we have a treat for you! Cobra The Impaler recently made available to us the official video to Blood Eye, taken off their debut full length album Colossal Gods due to be released on the 25th of February 2022, so make haste and check it out over here, and of course you can head over here to place your preorder!

BLACK DOOMBA RECORDS If you relish the idea of a discount code then this is the one for you! Black Doomba Records is offering us a 20% discount off anything and everything, and counts for your whole order until the last moment of New Year’s Eve 2021! Head over here to check out the collection, and remember to use the code 20percentoff !

BLACK LION RECORDS Worth mentioning is the ongoing December sale at Black Lion Records, which you will find here, and use the code blacklion55 to get 55% discount off everything!

CANTICLE One of the many faces of the prolific Maurice de Jong, Canticle sees the explorer of the darkest musical terrains satisfy his more atmospheric urges with latest release Seven steps to complete the ascension to drink the blood of christ (say that fast 10 times). You can listen to the album in full here, where you can also purchase and download a digital copy.

EA Christmas just got a whole lot more funereal, as Solitude Productions have just given the vinyl treatment for the very first time to EA II, the second album by mysterious funeral doom project EA. Listen to the album in all its glory here and check out the various limited vinyl pressings available.

COIL Alright look, Coil were never metal for one moment, but England’s seminal electronic, industrial, magikians explored some of the darkest terrains of the human experience, sometimes in a very catchy, danceable way. There’s been a number of Coil releases getting a new vinyl edition recently and the latest is an extended edition of The New Backwards on Austria’s Infinite Fog Productions. If you like it a little weird and you don’t yet know Coil, give your head a shake, and click here. You’ll need to wait till March 16th to get your paws on a copy, but don’t expect there to be copies left by then.

MSW Fans of MSW and his major project Hell are duly notified that there are some newly available t-shirts on the webstore, alongside various releases, such as the excellent Obliviosus album on various formats.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative. So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.

It really is hard to believe that Christmas is already pretty much upon us, why, we feel like the year started just yesterday! Nonetheless, as usual we encourage you to check out the entertainment and merch available to us in order to support the artists, and on behalf of the BAZ team we wish all of our readers happy holidays!
