Do you know those times when you see the name label and you know what you will listen to?

Yes, in this case when I saw the Invictus Productions name I knew from the start that I would get Black Death Metal style or Death Metal in the old fashion style.

This time was the time of Deathcult, a band from Switzerland. I remember seeing the info of the previous album from 2016, also released by Invictus Productions and in 2017 by Iron Bonehead Productions in vinyl format, but to be honest I don’t remember if I ever listened to the band. So, I can say that was my first time…

What do we have here? Well, as I said above, is one of the two mentioned styles. In this case, is Old Fashion Death Metal. And a good one. It looks that I’m returning to the ’90s when Death Metal was really big.

The album is divided into 8 powerful songs and I feel tempted to say 8 hymns of Death Metal.
The songs are contagious, strong, catchy, very good, robust, potent, firm, rigid, solid, and, yes, I can say now that the album is divided into 8 hymns of Death Metal.

Even if the first song is an intro, but a damn good intro for what you will listen to.

The ’90s feel, the riffs used, the distortion sound, the mix, the guitars, the snare drum sound, and the voice… The last one reminds me of a mix of Death and Autopsy style.

This album managed to grab my balls (I know it’s a silly expression, but…) and the pleasure (this sounds awkward, hmmmmm…) from the first song till the last song. As I said, it looks that I’m in the ’90s, listening to some very good Death Metal.

The album can be fast, but also slow, but in both cases, the “weight” of the songs is not lost and to be honest, is hard for me to say when they are more “heavy”. But, that is not the point and not what I want to say about this album.

And… At this moment I’m really blocked, cause I can’t find the correct words to express the feelings/pleasure while listening to this album that I had (and still have, cause I’m listening to again and again).

Cmon… Why this is such a damn good release and I can’t find any flaw or a weak spot or something that I don’t like? Arghhhhh. I’m saying this, cause I can’t find any more words to say that is album is… A masterpiece. Done, I found the missing word about this album. My final words… Grab it. NOW.
