#BAZUndergroundUpdates CVIII

The best things in life are certain predictable things.

Like this week’s article of The Underground Updates! The same as always, every Tuesday, brought to you by our writers Julia Katrin and Tom Osman!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

BLACK LION RECORDS And the spring sale continues! Spring is indeed here and it is not only our right but our duty to help the labels clear out in order to make some space for the new summer items! Black Lion Records continues with the clearance sale mentioned last week! So make sure to head over here to check out the selection, and use the code spring50 at the checkout! Oh, and of course make sure you check out the limited time offer of Name Your Price on digital!

You can pick up a copy of the album on CD or double LP + booklet from Invictus Productions here—where you can also hear the album in full.

NOTTURNO One-man atmospheric depressive black metal project Notturno’s debut record Obsessions has just been released on Hypnotic Dirge Records. Featuring guest vocals and drums and consisting of three tracks—all near or over ten minutes in length—listeners can expect a dark and harrowing musical voyage ahead of them. INANES atmospheric black metal at the more pounding end of the spectrum arrives in the form of Acedia—the new album by Poland’s Inanes—out now on Via Nocturna. You can purchase the album on CD and listen to it in full here.

KATHAROS XIII If you like noirish atmospheric metal, you need to have Romania’s Katharos XIII in your life. With two excellent albums already available through Loud Rage Music, the band’s third album Chthonian Transmissionsis set for release through the label on 23 May. There are a number of editions you can pre-order—including bundles. Check them out—alongside the opening track of the new album—here.

NEUROSIS Atmospheric sludge metal gods Neurosis have just announced some new merch on their bandcamp site. There are patches and t-shirts to be found here.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative. So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.

As May passes by in what we hope will be quickly, it draws ever closer to better times in the form of summer. More and more concerts are finally happening, and we at Blessed Altar Zine remain hopeful that brighter pandemic free times are ahead! Good job on keeping those horns clean, satanized and held high above all!
