What a very good surprise from the Hellenic lands. A very powerful Black Death Metal. The sound is very well mixed, very balanced, with very good riffs, and the songs with a lot of melodies, well structured, never losing the “power”. Very good indeed. Hmmmmm… Ok, let me start with a small introduction. The band started as a solo project in Italy and this is the third album, from this Dodecaphonic Death Metal band. Wait… WHAT? Yes, dodecaphony is a method of musical composition first devised by Austrian composer Josef Matthias Hauer or by also the Austrian Arnold Schoenberg, here I couldn’t find the real origin. This technique is known version as the 12-tone technique. Now the band… I have to say it… It was necessary to show to all the virtuosity and musical technique and distill so many notes in “places” that don’t make sense to most people??? I don’t argue with this choice, but it does this more technical style within Death Metal, elitist, and a bit niche. For those who like technical Death Metal in the vein of Pestilence, Death, Cynic, and Atheist, but with musical notes in the most (supposedly) impossible to hear places.

I’m not a big fan of Brutal Death Metal, but like in all styles, there are bands and there are bands. In this case, this Italian band managed to grab my attention from the first song till the last one, and I repeated it a lot of times the album. Is a very good one, to be honest. It did remind me of some bands, like Disgorge (USA), Defeated Sanity, Disentomb, Pyaemia, Deeds Of Flesh, Dying Fetus, etc. Not a copy+paste band, just a remind me of.
