Hello there,

Well, as all already noticed, of course, we are in June already, and from what I have been seeing for this month there will be released a lot of albums, EPs,s and demos in a lot of styles inside our beloved Metal world. The list of “must listen to” is big, to be honest. Is growing a lot. It is true that nowadays is very easy to release something, not like in the past, when was needed to go to the studio, rehearsal a lot of the songs, and money was needed (and a lot, and I know what I’m talking about, I lived that). Today… We can have our own studio very easily, and we can record our music and release it very easily too, there are a lot of platforms that musicians can use to do an independent release, but this huge production of music is good or bad? It will have quality? Being easy doing things nowadays means that the “new” musicians don’t give value? Hmmm… To me they do, they do music, if I like it or not, that is another talk, but… It is much easier today to do things, that is true… Anyway… Let me talk about some new future releases…

So, check my recos…

Band: Adversvm
Title: Vama Marga
Label: Moribund Records
Release date: 23 June 2023
Country: Germany
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

In my opinion, Germany had and has, several bands inside the Funeral Dom Metal, but there are many people talking about it. They have quality, but it looks like people don’t know, care, or support them. Well, that is my opinion from what I have been seeing. Moving forward… This band is now releasing the third album and it is a damn very good one. The cadence of the riffs and the drum, and the strong sick voice… But the album is not only that, sometimes the band showed to me ears that could be also a band inside the Death Doom world. To be honest, I am divided in both worlds played by this band, cause both are very well damn played and “touched” me. Congratulations.

Band: Aodon
Title: Portraits
Label: Willowtip Records
Release date: 09 June 2023
Country: France
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

Started with a one-man band, then, a full band, and after that returned again to the one-man band and 3 releases, 3 albums. In nowadays this case is very “normal”, I’m talking about albums. Many bands don’t release any more demos or EPs or splits. Nothing against it, I’m just saying cause I notice a few things happening. The previous albums I had a fast listening but I will return to them asap. About this third release, third album… Is a good album, full of melody, cold and icy riffs but also with the emotional, atmospheric, post parts that many bands are playing. Not complaining, cause Aodon is doing it very well and this album is worth listening to, many to be honest. Check them.

Band: Aran Angmar
Title: Atavism & Dying Stars
Label: Hellstain Productions
Release date: 02 June 2023
Country: Greece / The Netherlands / Italy
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

Originally released in digital format only one month and a few days before the release date in physical release this band from those 3 countries release an album that the first listening till the last one to be honest sounds a lot of what Behemoth is doing in nowadays mixed with a bit of Watain and some Dissection here and there. The mix is well done, and the album sounds good but it needed some listening to start to enjoy it. Is not an album that “enters” at the first time, maybe cause of what it sounds like. After those some listening times, the album started to flow in a very natural way and I started to really enjoy it. Give them a try a check them.

Don’t forget to support the bands and labels.
